Tecmo Superbowl Stats for season 3:
Philadelphia Eagles: Undefeated Superbowl Champs!
Regular Season Individual Statistics:
QB Eagles - 5,839 yards passing (led the league); 83 passing TD's (led the league); 6 INT's; 72.6% completed (led the league); 16.6 yards per pass; 1,601 yards rushing (2nd in the league); 15 rushing TD's
Keith Byars - 73 receptions; 793 yards receiving; 18 TD's
Heath Sherman - 29 receptions; 337 yards receiving; 7 TD's
Fred Barnett - 40 receptions; 2,270 yards (led the league); 56.7 yards per catch (led the league); 14 TD's
Calvin Williams - 26 receptions; 976 yards receiving; 37.5 yards per catch; 14 TD's
Keith Jackson - 87 receptions (led the league); 1,463 yards receiving; 22 TD's
Team Stats - 1,602 total yards allowed (988 pass, 614 rush); 7,440 total offensive yards (5,839 pass, 1,601 rush)
Season Summary:
The Eagles waltzed through the season with only one injury to punt returner, Kenny Jackson. This lack of injuries led to unprecedented output from the team's admiral, QB Eagles. This guy led the league in just about everything he possibly could. He even barely missed leading the league in rushing, finishing 80 yards shy of Bobby Humphrey.
I didn't reset any games, which is a big deal for me, because usually I have to reset during week 16 when Otis Anderson kicks I disagree.
Anyway, the Eagles kicked some ass, and won easily over the Vikings in the divisional playoff, then...
In a stunning move to football outsiders, Coach Cryns brought in the Punky QB, Jim McMahon, to comandeer the Birds to the NFC championship. In the NFC Championship game, the Punky QB threw for 3 TD's and 280 yards! All hail!!!
But... after a dreadful first half of action in the Superbowl - a first half that saw the Punky QB throw 3 interceptions and NO touchdowns - Coach Cryns decided to call up the unanimous league MVP from the bench.
"QB Eagles!!" Cryns yelled. "Get your ass in there and clean up this mess that the Punky QB caused!!!"
So, QB Eagles entered the game in the second half trailing 0-14. He then proceeded to unleash the fury on the Raiders and rushed for 213 yards on 9 carries, scoring on 3 of those runs. He also passed for another touchdown, giving the Eagles a 28-21 Superbowl victory!
