Over the past month, I played a full season of the greatest game ever invented, Tecmo Super Bowl for the original NES. My single season stats were as follows:
Houston Oilers: undefeated Super Bowl Champs Warren Moon: 4,750 yards passing 52 TDs Earnest Givens: 1,000 yards rushing, 2,000 receiving, 35 TDs Drew Hill: 2,000 yards receiving, 55 yards per catch, 30 TDs
I had to reset the NES three times in the AFC championship game against the Bills, because Bruce Smith was breaking through and sacking Moon on every play. He must have been on "excellent," the bastard. Anyway, I ended up squeaking by the Bills and routed the Redskins 42-0 in the title game.

Yes, I know. Resetting the NES was a shameful display... But you don't understand - Bruce Smith was on EXCELLENT in the AFC Championship. That is a totally unfair advantage to the computer. By the way, that 2-0 win is unheard of! Great job! Were you trying to do that?! I've never pulled that feat off! Thanks for the photos as proof!

Awesome, I am glad I have found some folks that love this classic I much as I do. I am 24, and have been playing this game since I was 10 or 11, and have played so many games it is pittiful.. the 2-0 win, is unheard of; great job man, lowest scoring game I have ever heard of on TSB. Anyways. The way the find out how good you are when playing both an actual opp, and the comp , well at least for me, is to play random draw. I put all of the teams in a hat and draw before every game. It improves your overall playing ability with every team, and gives you some bragging rights. It has helped me to win 4 double elimination tournaments, so I think it is a good strategy. I won about 750 in all four so not a bad deal. Anyways, I just finished a season with the 49er and broke my al-time scoring record in a season with an astounding 987 points, but I yeilded nearly 300. The trick to scoring so high is to let your opp score if it looks like they are going to anyways, and always kick onside kicks. Just the opposite strategy if you are looking to shut teams down the entire season. Well, if you would like to chat about the game, just email me at chris_nichols1981@msn.com
